I am STILL not a plastic bag
Recently, Katie posted about green alternatives to the Anya Hindmarch "I am not a plastic bag" tote. I love the purses crocheted from plastic shopping bags. But what if you can’t crochet and the thought of all those plastic bags makes you shudder? What if you still need an eco-friendly tote bag in which to take your groceries home?
Caroline B, over on Instructables.com, has a simple suggestion. Make your own. Her version of the tote bag closely resembles the version that Sainsbury’s launched. I like her version because it reminds us how simple some designer products really are. And that we’d be better off doing simple things ourselves.

All you need is a canvas tote and a dye pen. She used a Dylon fabric pen in black and a cotton bag from People Tree. Total cost? About US$12. More expensive than the original, but only by a little bit. And far cheaper than you’d pay on ebay for one of these bags!
More (not) plastic bags: This is not a plastic bag... well, ok, maybe it is. Knitting and Crochet alternatives to the Anya Hindmarsh bag

Hi,
I do a range of alternative tote bags, some with environmental themes others with fun motifs.
