More techno-love with knitted robots
Who doesn't love robots? This pair is especially cute and cuddly, and as you can see from their facial expressions, very mischievous. Tchemgrrl wrote a nice pattern for this stuffed knitted Gir doll, and I made a variety of adaptations to it in order to produce these pocket-sized robots. My version is made of embroidery floss on 2 mm (UK 14 / US 0) needles, and measures 14 cm (5.5") tall. The pink one was inspired by bespectacled on Craftster; do go look at her lovely version!
If you're going to try this charming pattern, I'd suggest you use a decent yarn that doesn't tend to fray or snag. There are quite a few increases and decreases to manage, and in several places you need to pick up and knit from previously knitted stitches, so it's best to use a yarn that can hold up to all this activity. I don't recommend using embroidery floss unless you are extremely patient and prepared to make significant changes to the pattern. For best results, try a worsted weight or thicker yarn.
