Party Theme: The Chocolate Factory at Midnight
One of the best, and most frustrating, things for me when planning a party is the decorations. As soon as someone walks into the party, the decorations tell all about the theme for the evening, as well as about the person running things. Why else would so much money be spent on the decorating budget for a wedding?
If anyone is having a party, wedding or anything requiring decorations, Sylvie at sylvieonabun.livejournal.com has tonnes of inspiration and incredible work. She planned an amazing party for the York University Faculty of Education Year-End Formal based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As a teacher myself, I’m jealous that I didn’t graduate from York Each table had its own character from Veruca Salt and Charlie Bucket, to the Oompa Loompas and the pink sugar boat. Check it out…
A detail of the Charlie Bucket centerpiece, set just after the Fizzy Lifting Drink has taken effect.

The Great Glass Elevator. (I LOVE the detail on this!!!!)

Augustus Gloop’s chocolate plunge.

What would a Chocolate Factory party be like without a fountain/waterfall? Nothing, I tell you! Of course, there was a fountain!

Also, each person received a Wonka bar as a favour.
