At the very top of the list of awesome things I want but cannot afford sits a kntting machine, a weiner dog, and pretty much every item of clothing ever released by Wendy Mullin. So imagine my surprise last year when I uncovered a series of Built By Wendy patterns put out by Simplicity! At long last, I could wear something Built by Wendy - presuming, of course, my fingers don't get in the way...
The truly surprising thing about the patterns is that they're really easy! I did up both the blouse (4111) and the tie top (4112) in one afternoon, people! I will say, though, that in a few of them (I'm looking at you, pants 4410) Wendy gave me far too much credit, and the complicated directions lost me completely. But even then, somehow, I managed to come out with some really cute capris. It's almost as if I blacked out for an hour a woke up with pants. Thanks Wendy!
