What could be more subtly stylish and beautiful than a well-crafted cherry blossom motif? This one I found on Craftster is certainly very charming, and I was delighted to see that its maker had included a pattern.
The example used here has been sewn on to a crocheted clutch bag, but you could just as easily use it on a tote bag or maybe a denim skirt or jacket. Follow the jump for step-by-step instructions.
cherry blossoms: using size 10 crochet thread and size 6 steel crochet hook.
leave a long tail from the first slip knot to use for stitching onto project.
ch 2
rnd 1: 6 sc in first ch, join with sl st to form ring
first petal: ch 2, 3dc in same st, ch 2, sl st in same st.
next petal: sl st in next sc, ch 2, 3dc in same st, ch 2, sl st in same st.
repeat to make 5 or 6 petals. fasten off and leave a long tail for stitching.
