Crochet coral and other undersea patterns

Crochet may never be as cool as knitting, but I still love it. I remember learning, when I was 8-years old, how to hold the hook and make a chain. Now, though I love knitting, I use crochet when I want to make three-dimensional objects or when I want to freeform something just for relaxation.

Seller jpolka, on etsy.com, has taken crochet and turned it into something to be displayed behind glass. Literally. Her pattern for a branch of red coral looks amazing when you crochet it and frame it in a shadow box like a specimen from an old curiosities museum

I bought a four-pack of patterns and, within the hour, had received the pdfs and a lovely note from the seller herself. Isn’t it great when good products and good customer service go hand in hand?

Now, with my trusty G-hook, I am on my way to making divine undersea crochet creations. I’ve even got a spare shadow box to mount them in when I’m finished.
