It's great fun to knit adorable little robots, like the ones I made a few months ago. But what's even more fun is to send them on adventures! Once I'd made these robots, I photographed them taking baths, climbing on teapots, and feasting at a local sushi restaurant. Everywhere I went, people were delighted by these cute little guys, and wanted to know where they could buy them. This gave me repeated opportunities to encourage people to take up knitting needles and make their own. For more snaps, click here and here. Below the jump are more links and another photograph.
Fortunately, the friend for whom I made these little guys has carried on the practice of photographing the bots on their travels. He's even strapped them to his bicycle and taken them out on the highways! These are well-loved and well-travelled robots, let me tell you. Visit his blog for more adventures.
Another favourite photo series of a related robot is the one on Craftster, by bespectacled, of her muffin-eating robot. Check it out!
Such photos are a great way to showcase your knitting projects on your blog or in knitting communities, rather than the standard knitted object propped on desk type of photo. Don't just make robots: have fun with them!
