Heather Bailey is a domestic goddess, and I want to be her! I came across her blog - Hello my name is Heather a few weeks ago, and it blew me away. Not only the gorgeous presentation, which makes my blog (notice no link!) look truly pitiful, but the content. This woman is seriously talented. She has two children, but still finds the time to create her own line of fabric called Freshcut, a new (still to be fully unveiled) range of hair accessories called Trash Ties, plus many other wonderful crafty innovations. She's always been artistic and her first project, at the tender age of eight, was a pair of terrycloth and cardboard flip flops (sounds delightful!).
The thing that has struck me about her is the fact that she wants to inspire other women to be creative, and she is happy to share her thoughts an ideas with us in the hope that we will follow her lead. I certainly intend to have a go! Being a stay at home mum I'm all too familiar with the loss of ones identity and creativeness, and it's only now that my daughter is 18 months old I am starting to recover some of the ambitions and dreams I had for myself.
Heather includes several free patterns on her blog, my favourite is the one for her totally cute Bitty Booties. She also has some wonderful handy hints, like this soap trick.
Any of you crafty women out there who are perhaps in a creative slump, haven't picked up a needle and thread since your child was born, or are just looking for some wonderful ideas...go see Heather!
