This past year I wrote a dissertation for the final year of my degree, and my chosen subject was the T-shirt (how it's use should be more than just a garment). During my research I came across a fair few t-shirt books to say the least, and one that I ended up buying was 'Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt'. This book is fantastic as a starting point for ripping up your old, boring shirts and turning them into couture fashion items. I found it incredibly useful because not only are there step-by-step instructions on creating new tops, but there's also great tidbits of T-shirt trivia.
I would say, however, that if you've anything more than a beginner in the world of sewing/clothes customisation, then this book probably isn't for you. The instructions assume that you have no prior knowledge in the field, and the designs are quite basic. However, if you're looking for a nice bit of reference material, or a book to start off with, then it's great!!
