This trend in crafting is becoming more and more popular, and who wouldn't love it: creating inanimate objects out of felt! This craft has been growing in popularity for a while, but is continuing to become more and more trendy. Even a character in the indie film, The Science of Sleep, directed by Michel Gondry (the same director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), created inanimate objects out of felt, including a telephone.
Last month's Craft Challenge at the popular Craftster forums was to create inanimate objects from felt. The winner created an entire Japanese bento box from felt with many different pieces of sushi and Japanese cuisine. Other entries included: a polaroid camera, a felt blender, and even a felt toilet. These crafts don't really serve any useful purpose, other than being decorative and bringing joy to all. If you're interested in creating things from felt, it is an inexpensive and highly creative craft where you can create an infinite amount of different works.
