Wardrobe Refashion: Stop buying new clothes

WardrobeRefashion.jpg

With trends changing every few months, it can be impossible to keep yourself “in style.” Rather than spend all of my money on the hot new thing each month, I’m signing up for Wardrobe Refashion - founded and run by our very own Nichola Prestead - and taking myself out of the trend game.

Wardrobe Refashion is nothing short of a pledge that you won’t buy any new clothes (shoes and intimate apparel are excluded from the pledge) for a defined period of time. The pledges run in two month increments. And for every two-month period, you get one get out of jail free card – just in case you find a once-in-a-lifetime sale or the like.

I love this idea because it encourages people to alter the clothes they have and to get creative with thrifting and the like. Wardrobe Refashion is a way to re-invigorate your wardrobe without breaking your bank account. The blog posters refashion shirts and dresses and stuff animals and accessories. Sign up for a two-month pledge to dip your toe in the water and I guarantee that you’ll look at the contents of your closet in a whole new way.
