Amigurumi, the craft of making little crocheted (or knitted) toys, is very popular these days. But new crocheters are forever asking where they can find free patterns. Here's one answer: Ami List. It's a blog established by Bethany Hall, where she collects free patterns published online, and shares them. You'll find links to the patterns, and blog entries showing examples made by various crocheters, such as the whale pictured here which was made by EmEyeAaay on Craftster. The patterns are categorized by type of creature: Bear, Octopus, Frog, and so on; it's a very handy system, making it easy to find just the right pattern.
I encourage crocheters to check out this excellent resource, and if you know of other free patterns, suggest that they be included there.
