Embroidery used to conjure up images of little old ladies with half moon glasses, sitting in rocking chairs stitching away 'Home Sweet Home' banners for their grandchildren. But like other traditional Granny crafts, embroidery has reached new heights of cool, and Sublime Stitching is testament to that. They sell ultra cool vintage inspired patterns, which you iron on to your chosen fabric then you can start stitching. The patterns can be used up to eight times, so you can use them to theme a whole host of craft projects from fabric painting to paper crafts.
They also sell blanks, which are basically items that can be used as a base for your embroidery, like 50s style aprons and pillow cases. There is a fabulous 'How-To' section, which is aimed at the frustrated novice, and which shows you how to get started with some basic stitches. Once you've completed your project you can submit it to the customer gallery, or discuss any problems on the forum.
I LOVE this site! I wasn't really interested in embroidery until I saw Sublime Stitching, but I'll certainly be ordering some of their patterns to try.
