Trend Watch: Vintage fabric covered buttons and jewellery

il_430xN.9125553.jpgI've noticed a lot of fabric covered buttons on clothing these days, even on my daughter's tiny tops and trousers. It's such a great, inexpensive way to customise, and very easy to do. This idea has been taken to a different level by Fluffs Stuff who have a whole Etsy page devoted to funky, kitsch, fabric covered button jewellery. A lot of their inspiration seems to come from vintage fabrics, which also seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment. This Happy Giraffe brooch combines three covered buttons and costs US$14.

If you want to try making your own covered buttons to customise your clothes, or to make your own unique jewellery, there's a great tutorial over here at Little Things by Magda. K.
