Book club craft-along

Are you obsessed with crafts and literature? Here's something for you: a book club craft-along. Knit the Classics is a great site where people join in reading and discussing a book, and making crafts inspired by it.

Current and recent selections include Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Brideshead revisted by Evelyn Waugh, and Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. Knit the Classics allows a range of crafts beyond knitting, so long as they still fit in the broad category of fibre arts. Pictured here are two projects inspired by Dante's Inferno: a pair of "Slipper(y) Slope" slippers by adrienne, and a set of legwarmers, made by Glenna C. Read the site for guidelines and ideas, and learn how to participate in discussions about the various books.

Of course, you don't have to join a site online: what a great idea for a club with a group of local friends. I imagine all sorts of variations on this, pairing any type of literature with any craft. The possibilities are endless.
