Miniature clothes: sewing doll clothes from regular patterns

Eowyn1.jpg

I'm doing good, most of the time, to follow a regular sized pattern to create a garment that will fit me. So when I realized that there are not only patterns for doll-sized clothes but people using regular patterns to make clothes for dolls, I had to check it out a little bit more.
I found this awesome tutorial from Dale Rae Designs. She uses it for dolls that are the same size as a Barbie doll, but the technique could be used for any doll, including the lovely Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls that seem to be cropping up everywhere.

There is also a tutorial and a lot of good information for doll-clothes makers, in general, at Tiny Zippers. If half the fun of playing with dolls is playing dress-up, these sites will definitely increase your fun.
