The third issue of Knitonthenet has hit our virtual shelves this week, and as usual it is bursting at its stitched seams with knitting goodies.
They have an exclusive interview with Sasha Kagan, who is a renowned knitwear designer and has just written a book called Crochet Inspiration (“a distinctive crochet reference” apparently).
There are also free patterns (I am loving the Lost in Music Coverup), a shiny new Charity Knits page, and a world map you can chuck yourself, your shop, or your knitting group on (or find one of those near you and take advantage of it immediately).
One of the most fascinating articles is the one on Bellacouche Felt Burial Shrouds. They are made from felted wool, beautiful but a little spooky.
And Lazykate’s article on washing and carding their first fleece is a good giggle, and an excellent insight on the dos and don’ts of the whole process:
We put the fleece in the bath. This is such a big no no. Don't do it. Your children will gag and your husband may leave. The dog will like it.
Pretty much something for all knitterly types. Well worth a read. And it’s all free, so you have nothing to lose. Hurrah.
