UK Stitch 'n Bitch day: 10th November

stitchnbitchlady.jpgRumblings have been heard through the knitty grapevine that there is going to be a Stitch and Bitch UK Day on the 10th of November. About time we had one here, as the UK is home to over at least 200 knitting groups (according to the Stitch and Bitch website), 19 of those in London alone.

The UK SnB day promises to have all kinds of yarny fabulousness, with the main stitchin’ (and bitchin’ we hope) star of the show being the Queen of the Skein herself, Debbie Stoller. She is touting her new and much looked forward to book, Son of Stitch and Bitch Book. It promises to be full of manly patterns, and to put and end to "the curse of the boyfriend sweater".

sonof.jpgIt is being held in the heart of the UK’s fair capital city, and other goings on being put on by Craig and Gerard of I Knit include: stuff to buy, people to listen to (the likes of the inspiring Jean Moss, designer of chic hand knit originals, and the unique colour wizardry of Brandon Mably), stuff to read (piles of pattern and technique books), stuff to boogie to (the sensational Shellac Sisters to serenade your shelllikes with their 78’s, and Amy Lame with what sounds like a whole lotta pompom), stuff to look at (displays from SnB groups all over, including a fabulous nationwide SnB blanket), stuff to learn (workshops and classes), and apparently a bar with stuff to drink should it all become a bit much.
