Sewing your own hair curlers
Those mysterious looking tubes of fabric are going to curl your hair - literally. My friend Shawnee, of sock monkey-making fame, has posted a tutorial on these green alternatives to hot rollers.
This quick project is also a great idea for beginning sewers and is small enough for hand sewers. The buttons that attach the rollers can be plain plastic - or you can go crazy with fun ones or vintage ones.
