Pillowig: craft that lets you sleep anywhere
Falling asleep on your daily commute can leave a crafter with a crick in the neck, and that is never a good thing. So how about taking inspiration from Joo Youn Paek? Joo Youn’s Pillowig is a handmade pillow that you can wear, allowing the wearer to catch a few zzzzs wherever they happen to be.
She has tested out her pillow everywhere from the library to aeroplanes, and presented a performance piece in the Old Palace in Seoul, Korea. Joo Youn made 50 of the cosy caps, and has sold 47 of them to individuals she calls “Pillowig fans”.
She says “My ultimate goal is to deliver laughs and twists to our daily lives”, and with some of the kooky but clever items on her site, such as the Polite Umbrella and her Zipper Orchestra, she certainly does that.
