Make your own jewellery at Claire Aristides jewellery workshops

Now I do love to shop but more often than not I get frustrated when out and about. This necklace is lovely.. if only the chain was shorter. Great pair of earrings- but why can't they be in blue? hence jewellery making and design seemed like a logical step to satisfy my perfectionist qualities. Gorgeous jewellery designer Claire Aristides is now running her own Jewellery making workshops, and I went along to one to see how it was.. oh and make some gorgeous pieces in the process.

First off we started off with a lovely glass of champers and after a bit of a kerfuffle with name tags, the lovely Claire ran us thought the basic tools. Now I know my wire cutters from my round nose pliers, but for those who are new to it all, it's a great intro. We started off with simple jump loops and earring hooks, and made a pair of simple drop earrings together.

Next up, chandelier earring making, which involved a fair bot of swearing and refills on the drink as it's such a fiddly process! When you're playing with chain and memory wire you have to be nimble but we all go there eventually and some lovely creations were born. There's a great show n tell bit where everyone shares what they've made, and you have loads of beads to choose from which is nice. If you're unsure, you get one on one help, and everyone is uber friendly.

The sessions aren't that cheap, but it makes a lovely night out with the girls, a total change from the pub, and you come away with skills and the know how to work it at home. Plus some dangly delights on your ears! Check her website for details of the next classes!
