Those Martha Stewart Etsy rumours. Could they be true?

You may have heard whisperings today that domestic goddess and hard-nosed businesswoman Martha Stewart is eyeing up Etsy with a view to purchase the site, according to Valleywag, who had it from "a source connected to Etsy employees", who had seen Steward "cozying up" to Etsy cofounder Rob Kalin about a partnership and "possible acquisition".

While in many ways the claim seems plausible, it has already been declared rubbish by Silicon Alley Insider, who seem very certain on that point. However, their proof for this was "someone more informed than a `source close to Etsy employees'" which doesn't strike me as any more or less convincing a claim than Valleywag's, so I'm keeping an open mind on this one.
