Amazing upcycled glass by Bottled Up

Crafting with glass has become a big trend lately, with the rise in sustainable and eco-friendly methods a major factor.

One of my favourite glass workers is Bottled Up designs, whose jewellery is made chiefly from glass recovered from bottle dumps near the artist's home. The label was started purley out of concern for the environment, after its owner saw the damage the glass was doing to wildlife: "I have seen baby deer laying among the broken pieces, foxes running though it, squirrels chasing each other through broken pieces", she said.

This led her to start picking up and collecting the bottles, eventually incorporating them into jewellery and ornaments, and Bottled Up design was born. Each piece of Bottled Up Designs comes with "The Story of the Glass" detailing what the glass was originally and the age of the piece.
