Diamonds are a girl's best friend: Burda Style's 'Celeste' dress
Burda Style open source sewing has a great free pattern for this elegant lattice detail crossover dress.
The smocking at the front of the 'Celeste' dress creates a diamond, which gives the dress real character and shape. I personally prefer the versions that use plan fabric, but there are some interesting interpretations using patterned fabric here, too.
