Free Summer Dress Pattern from Fitzpatterns

If the sun ever really returns this cotton mini dress would be perfect for prancing around in it. You can download and print the pattern for free online at Fitzpatterns. What I love about this idea is that if you're not a sewer but have an old long t-shirt, you can simply slice it down the middle and insert the panel of contrasting fabric. Voila! Instant mini-dress.
The same idea can be extended to sewing a tube, tank top, or halter neck to a matching mini skirt. Or attach a pair of shorts and you have your own playsuit. The possibilities are endless.

Both patterns above are available for free on Fitzpatterns. The site also has more simple, easy to make basic outfits for very low prices that you can download and print on your own.
Missy Tube Top (Left) - This outfit would look great at a picnic or a day on the beach. The tube can be made from just about anything you have lying around. Old jumpers, outgrown dresses, or even an ex-boyfriend's t-shirt.
The Shirley Asymmetric Dress looks great made out of see-through lurex as shown in the image. But make it out of a luxurious fabric like silk jersey or satin, add a belt and pin a large flower on the shoulder strap and you have your own take on the famous Sex And The City Dress. Or, cut the skirt shorter and you have a great long-top to wear over jeans and layer. Another idea is to cut it loosely out of chiffon for a lovely beach cover up.
