Daemon or Doppelganger? You decide with clay
During my time at the Latitude Festival last weekend, I spotted a small hive of creativity lurking in a tent, where small children and adults alike were making weird and wonderful sculptures out of clay. A closer inspection revealed that the models were mostly tiny figures and faces, some resembling their creators.
Turned out I'd stumbled across Daemon or Doppelganger, a project now in its seventh year that tours festivals all over Europe, inviting people to create their own 'self-portraits' out of clay. A 'terracotta army' of more than 25,000 of these figures have now been made by festivalgoers, who are, after all, famed for their love of mud! Check out the gallery to see more!
