I love anything to do with Maneki Neko, and I've got loads of the little guys keeping me company at work and home. Some are made from porecelein, some plastic, some but until now, I've never seen one of these kitties made out of yarn.
To make a 'fortune cat' of your own, all you'll need is your usual crochet gear and a nice big (preferably) Chinese coin with a hole in the middle. The pattern for this one was made by Kathy Wishnie, who's kindly posted it free of charge here. [Via Craft]
