This cheeful pair of tie-on slippers caught my eye while I was scouring the crafty blogosphere earlier. I thought they'd be perfect for pottering around the garden on warm summer evenings, and will keep your feet cosy indoors when the temperature drops. Most of all, they just look so cheery and cute -- and they're dead simple to make, too.

Could the outside piece be made of faux or real suede, cut lower and stitched onto the lining fabric to make a sturdier slipper? The suede would have to be low enough to keep the part that ties free.
