Not so long ago, it was polka-dots you'd see popping up all over handcrafted creations, but now the dots seem to have gone a bit wild and mutated into what's being called 'confetti' embroidery. This crazy, non-uniform, dotted patterning looks really cheerful, and injects a real sense of fun into your work: I've seen it in wall art, quilting and jewellery.
This 'confetti cushion' was made by Annabel on Craftster, who took the multicoloured fabric from an old sheet, that was then turned into a pillowcase. She then hand-appliqued the swatches straight on to the cushion cover. A great use for old fabrics that creats a really cheery effect.
