Crochet: Crafty Cactus's boy beanie hat

Tonight, I'm embarking on yet another attempt to get to grips with crochet, following my last try on international crochet day. It's no easy skill to acquire, and knowing this just fills me with admiration for those who are prepared to stick with it. Even more so when they produce 'first attempts' that look like this very accomplished beanie hat by the Crafty Cactus, who found the pattern in Stitch 'n' Bitch: The Happy Hooker. I love the choice of colours here, and the three narrow stripes contrast brilliantly...let's consider it inspiration for my own session tonight! *gulp*
