Donkey Kong was my first love on the video game front, and continues to be a bit of an obsession of mine, even after my illusions were shattered and I found out that the name 'Donkey Kong' was not, in fact, a mistranslation from the Japanese that should have been 'Monkey Kong'; a factoid I once never tired of telling, until finding out it was an urban myth. But I'm over that now, and am happy to see my favourite weirdly-named primate starring in the work of talented crafters, like in this tapestry by Flickr member Mechashiva. Nice to see a character from before Mario's time getting some attention, eh?
