I'm guessing that for some people the pace of web 2.0 must just be a little too much, forcing them to revert to more time-honoured ways of recording the minutiae of their daily lives. At least, that's what seems to be going on in the heads of those who take up the art of embloggery; blogging through the medium of tapestry.
