HOW TO: Make a cocktail umbrella lampshade

I stumbled on a store selling cocktail unbrella lanterns the other day, and immediately got thinking about the possibilities for making DIY versions of this wonderfully kitschy accessory.

As you might imagine, there are loads of instructions on how to make the shades, but the best instructions I've found are here. The shades are a great way to brighen up an old, tired-out lampshade, or create the atmosphere for a Hawaiian themed room or party.
