INSPIRATION: Kirsty Hall's 'Quiver'

quiver hand.jpgI've long been of the opinion that if you get enough of anything together in one place, you'll end up with a very pleasing effect, and that's certainly true of Kirsty Hall's artwork, much of which focuses around the accumlation of one basic crafting object: the pin.

Here I am stroking her 'Quiver', piece, part of her pin series. It was very soft, in case you were wondering, even when stroked the 'wrong way'. It got me thinking about how it's possible to turn everyday objects into really quite extraordinary forms, and how some of the most talented crafters I know can do this to great effect. You can check out more of Kirsty's work here.
