Craft can get incredibly schmaltzy around this time of year, so discovering this set of 'alternative' Valentine's cards by Felicity Ford of rather fabulous Domestic Soundscape blog was like a breath of fresh air.
They're going on display at Love Is Awesome; an exhibition opening in Reading on 14th Feb, which promises to be a "surprising antidote to the asinine syrup of Valentine's day and a marvellous tonic for the heart". They include a biscuit series, with cookies spelling out non-traditional valentine's messages.

Even when love goes wrong, it is still awesome. And there are many kinds of Love and many kinds of Awesome. That's the message behind this off-beat, crafty show that features Relics of an Awesome Love knitted in stone-like yarn by Rachael Matthews of Cast Off, an informative Love documentary (Love-U-Mentary) by performance artist Stavroula Kounadea, various, completed Love Assignments from Felicity Ford and assorted works by Emmylou Laird.
The exhibition opens at 6pm on 14th Feb, at Gallery 10, 10 Gun Street, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 2JR. Visitors on the opening night will be treated to cake and wine.
