I never tire of finding bizarre, original and downright breathtaking work to feature here on Crafty Crafty, but it's always equally fun to give others a chance to share the bits of crafty genius that they've spotted recently and compare notes. This week, it's the turn of our intern, Alison, from our fashionista sister site Catwalk Queen

Mari Kasurinen is an artist from Finland who has come up with an imaginative way to give old My Little Ponies a new lease of life by reinventing them to resemble well-known characters from Hollywood blockbusters. Their recognisable form is still intact, but the ponies now wear Batman capes, Darth Vader masks or have been given scissor-hands (scissor-hooves?). Via Extreme Craft
On a similar note, AnnaTheRed likes to make her bento boxes resemble everything from video games to TV shows and animated films. The bentos themselves take her a couple of hours to make, whilst designing and sketching them brings the total time around to a dedicated five hours. If you have a some free time and a lot of patience, Anna also posts tutorials on how to recreate your own bento fantasy lands.
HKcreations over at the Livejournal community, Craftgrrl, came up with an interesting way to turn her leftovers into jewellery when she used lamb bones to make tusks and plugs for her gauged ears. The finished product is rather suprisingly beautiful and polished, take a look here.
With Valentine's Day approaching fast, check out Craftster meekssandygirl's amazing crochet heart mansion. I love the detailing on the hearts from the little windows to balcony and roses on the rose bush!
And if you are in the baking mood, stop by Bakerella to see her incredible Valentine's Gift Box cake (complete with tutorial for the super crafty). Everything barring the paper wrappers is edible; with the "chocolates" being small cake balls, and the box itself being a cake concealed in icing. Genius! Via Cake Wrecks.
