PAPER CRAFT: Birthday journalling

eliseblaha.jpgI have always loved the idea of keeping a scrapbook or journal, but I'm really bad even with a plain old diary that I never keep up a scrapbook for too long. Whilst browsing the internet in a bit of a daze, I came across Elise Blaha's fantastic website, and spent a good while going back through her posts and loving every single thing she had posted. The journal she created just before her 24th birthday is without doubt, one of my favourite things.

Made out of scraps of beautiful paper, envelopes, cards and everything else inbetween, the idea was for Elise to keep track of the 24 things she wanted to accomplish in her 24th year. To keep in line with the theme of "24," the book even has 24 wonderful pages, which she says she hopes to fill "with photos and text and menus and receipts and plane tickets and all the memorabilia I will collect as I accomplish 24 different things this year." I think this is such a great way to keep track of the year in a haphazard sort of way, and will definitely be finding the time to create my own book for when my next birthday rolls around!

Elise's book was inspired by Ali Edwards' December Daily Album, whose website has a tutorial on how to create similar scrapbooks.
