GEEK FOOD CRAFT: Legend of Zelda cake topper

Apparently, geeks are getting married these days. And they're doing it in the only way they know how, with meticulously crafted references to their favourite computer games heroes and heroines.

One of the more tasteful tributes to a couples shared pixel love comes in the form of these two dinky Zelda characters, Zelda and her true love, Link.

I've not yet seen a photo of the topper taking pride of place on a cake, but it was made by a Flickr member going by the name of Side_Show who also seems to enjoy making aprons out of tissue paper. Hi folks, side_show here. I found this nice little post about our wedding cake topper today, well after the fact. I get contacted all the time with requests to make another or sell it. Neither are possible unfortunately. I've since added a little info on how I made it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/s... We've been married almost four years now (together nearly 11 years!). Revealing the cake topper was one of my fondest memories of our wedding reception. Seeing my hubby's reaction was great, and all his gamer friends were so excited too! The topper is now in a place of pride, high up and safe in our kitchen.

Sadly I don't have a single picture of our wedding cake! It was a crafty wedding all around, with my wedding dress being a vintage 100 year old gown, and hand made invitations and all!

this is a perfect cake topper for my wedding cake!!!!!.. if anyone has any info about how to get this cake topper or one a lot like it please let me know.
