Make your own Swine 'flu protection mask

If you've read the news this week, you'll probably be thinking we're all doomed. But fear not: an army of crafters are already coming forward to prove that they'll be the ones to save the earth with an arsenal of DIY surgical facemasks, lovingly handmade to stop those germs from spreading and protect us from our doom. So what's on offer?

• Craftster member TheMidge posted up this basic facemask she'd whipped up for her daughter, after the little girl 'freaked out' following a school assembly about swine 'flu.

• This crafter, meanwhile, turned to her crochet skills to make the lifesaving accessory.
