Twitter Natter: What are you making for summer?

twitter-me.jpgSummer is no longer a fictional event to be visited only in daydreams - it's now well and truly on the horizon and if you haven't made your next bikini, beach bag and sun dress, you'd better get back to the sewing machine right away.

Which brings me to this week's Twitter question: what are you making, or planning to make, for the summer season and which patterns are catching your eye? Answer in 140 characters or less and follow the jump to see readers' replies

suz_anne@craftycrafty I'm making lots of scarves, gloves and beanies for the winter

Winter crafting already eh? This is way too organised for me!

michelesl1971@craftycrafty I am knitting mesh market bags & also beach bags out of recycled cotton!! I am tired of all the plastic bags!!

Wow, go you with your greenness! I'd love to see the knitted plastic bags, as I've seen so many patterns but not so many finished examples.

I'm going to attempt a shirred dress for my daughter using this tutorial - http://tinyurl.com/cehq4s

Looks cool - and I totally love the froggy fabric they've found for the tute!

@craftycrafty - have just taken delivery of a Me2You X-stitch Wedding Sampler for my sister's nuptials in Sept - think I'll have to do that!

Sounds like you'll have a good summer knitting project on the go then - do let us see the result!

thebluepixie@craftycrafty a dress for the graduation ball (as yet unstarted eek!) and an outdoor mosiac - dishwasher safe crockery must be frostproof?

All sounds highly ambitious!

skaro964@craftycrafty I am makeing tote bags / purses and a summer weght sweater

you can never have too many totes...

itssewsweet@craftycrafty I've decided to make something for myself, for a change, and whip up some skirts for the summer.

Good for you! It's nice to be selfish sometimes ;)
