It's a long weekend (again? I was certain that was it now until at least late summer!) so I thought I'd share a recipe for a nice long cocktail to mark the occasion. This one is an absolute treat, too: it's a rhubarb and custard caipirinha.
Here's what you'll need:
♥ 2 big tablespoons of fresh rhubarb, boiled for 6 minutes or so til it's soft
♥ 2 bar spoons fine sugar OR vanilla syrup
♥ 50ml Abelha Cachaca OR 40ml Abelha Cachaca and 10 ml Vanilla Vodka (depends if you used vanilla syrup - don't over vanilla it!)
♥ 1 egg yolk
method over the jump
Add all ingredients to the mixing glass. Shake vigourously for about 2-3 times as long as normal - you need to the egg yolk to froth up and give a good custard-y texture.
Pour out into tumbler. Garnish with a stick of rhubarb and a lime wedge so the recipient can sour their drink if they prefer.
