Twitter Natter: When do you find time to craft?

twitternatter.jpgA common refrain I hear from wannabe crafters (including myself) is 'if only I had time to learn\practice this craft I'd make such wonderful things!' And it seems so true, doesn't it? If only you didn't have to do all those time-guzzling things like work, washing up, taking the kids to school and seeing friends we'd all be Martha Stewarts - right?

Sadly, most of us know deep down that most crafters are busy people. Sure, there are the ones you can't help but remark have way too much time on their hands, but for every one of those there are ten who seem to just have infinite reserves of creativity, energy and focus.

So if you're one of these annoying deeply talented people, I want to hear your secrets. When do you cram in this mysterious crafting time and how do you juggle all the other elements of your busy life?

Leanne> Night time - of course! Why didn't I think of that one? Probably because I've got this weird addicion to shutting my eyes at 11pm and not opening them again for another 8 hours ;)

And wow - looking at your Folksy goodies it seems that not sleeping is particularly good for you - some fabulous stuff there :) You've got in there with the August Pumpkins too, I see!

  • Before I started crafting (nearly) full time, I worked a 60+ hour job plus worked on getting our own company up and running. Both of us still did quite a bit of crafting but it was while we were watching a movie at night or instead of watching bad weeknight tv.

I did a lot of my personal crafting late at night when I couldn't sleep and in the mornings when J would leave for work.

  • I don't sleep:) At least I don't sleep a lot. At least I'll have a lot more time once my daughter starts school later this week.
