Don't worry - it's not a pumpkin. Not just yet. I know that many crafters are already gearing up for halloween, but it's going to be at least a few more...days before the whole of this site turns black and orange for October. September is still a time for harvesting things - for apples, plums and tomatoes, so I'm going to be celebrating all those things on the site for now.
First, here's a lovely yarn apple made by Make and Takes. It's simple to make, and a basket of these would make a perfect early autumn centrepiece.
A knitted pear. And why not? This one's by Pea Soup of the Day, and I love the way she's captured the natural colour variations in the fruit with the use of differently coloured yarn. If you'd like to make one, it's from an original pattern at Jimmy Beans Wool.
Woolen felted acorns are another easy and effective autumnal treat for the house. I love the golden colour of these ones by TruLuxe, who also makes them in bright colour palates.
I've never seen anything quite like these apple hair clips, and think they're totally delightful. Reminiscent of paper craft, the 'flesh' and leaves are made entirely from shaped ribbon. You can buy these on Etsy for $12.
