These funky, chunky earrings as made by Vickie Howell will add an instant DIY indie touch to your look, and they're an absolute doddle to whip up.
Simply dig out a pair of old hoop earrings (or buy them for a nominal sum at any market) and use scraps of sock yarn to knit around the hoop. You can use as many colours as you like if you want a striped or rainbow effect, but black works well here. Once done, decorate with stick-gems or similar ornaments.
