Weekend DIY project: make a ringpull lampshade

I'm really impressed by this chic and contemporary-looking lampshade that's made entirely out of discarded soda can ringpulls. It gives a sort of chainmail look, that would certainly add an edge to any room. Also, I can imagine getting a certain obsessive-compulsive pleasure from sitting down and attaching all the pieces together, but that's enough about my foibles!

Instructions on how to make this 'chainmail' shade can be found here. It looks like they've used an ordinary Ikea lamp stand, so no excursions to obscure hardware stores should be required.
