Industrial Spot by Natymosko on Etsy has a great eye for turning everyday bits of junk into cool and contemporary items of furniture. I saw this 'Box Life' book cabinet made from an old crate and was instantly charmed.
You could buy one of these items for a very reasonable $110 on Etsy, but alternatively, this is an idea that any keen DIY freak could certainly 'borrow'. All you need are the legs of an old table and a spare plastic crate, and with the right tools you could make your own unique and useful industrial-style furniture. I'd love to make a whole book case with crates holding the slats together; an idea you'll also find realised at the shop home.
