Nothing inspires more fear in the heart of a Mario gamer than a limb-chompin' piranha plant. But that fear is converted into creative energy where crafters are concerned, as they seem to want the man-eating triffids all around them: on their necks, in their homes - you name it!
On the left we have a piranha plant scarf, which is really quite eye-catching and would be the perfect gift for a Nintendo geek. Its maker, Craftster's Enermy Airship, has been unusually generous in publishing the pattern, which you can find here.
On the right is one of the most fun Ikea hacks I've seen in a long time. An ordinary table lamp is turned carnivorous with the aid of some red, green and white paint - and that's it. No clever re-wiring or anything involving potentially fatal shocks. Hurrah!
