The Spy Who Stitched Me

There is possibly no one on earth as handy with a hook as the shaken-but-not-stirred Woo Work. Howie Woo constantly crochets marvels from his cute fridge critters series (carefully crossed off a list stuck to the fridge as he crocheted each one to life) to his more recent spy gadget The Sat-Track Surveillance Watch.

Multiskilled Howie's blog posts showcase his stitched wonders along with his other talents. The crafty Canadian draws, makes films and is a pretty fine photographer to boot. Add a quirky and cool sense of humour to that and you have the recipe for one hell of a crafter.

Thus on his blog we are treated to dramatic photo stories, and short and suitably hilarious videos to go with every item.

There seems to be no limit whatsoever to what Woo Work will hook up next. He's crocheted dynamite, an egg that resembled his sister, a floating UFO, a toothy shark and, a past favourite of ours, a plush but deadly raygun. It's worth virtually stalking him on Twitter to keep an eye on what he's up to next.

Inspiring stuff and a refreshing change from plant pot doilies I think you'll agree.

Howie Woo is a crocheting genius. It is as simple as that. I have the pleasure of meeting him on Twitter (@WooWork) and he is hilarious, and genuine as well. I cannot wait to see what Howie's wonderfully twisted and wooly mind will dream up next. Thanks for the terrific post deadlyknitshade! Keep the good and fiber filled stuff coming.
