Confessions of a knitting sheep
Sheep have a special place in the hearts of knitters everywhere. We see them as a fleecy friend who could keep us supplied with knitting goodies infinitely. Many of us long for whole herds of our own and have our favourite breeds. So it would be lovely if it worked the other way round and sheep had an affection for all things knitty.
It seems one sheep is leading the way for the herd. The Beano's Derek the Sheep has joined Stitch and Bitch London's knitting masses.
In an exclusive interview with the Stitchettes Derek the Sheep talks about his brand new knitting journey, his intentions to get other Beano characters to join the knit and his secret plans for a bit of graffiti knitting on the farm. Read the full interview here.
S&B London are also running a competition to win signed copies of the Derek the Sheep book.
If a knitting sheep doesn't inspire you to be crazy with your craft then I don't know what will. Derek's enthusiasm for the knit reminds me of my first ever Stitch and Bitch back in the day. Hopefully he'll inspire a younger generation of Beano-reading knitters too.
