Zut alors! It would take a lot of knitting to animate a music video of three minutes and 16 seconds. Happily this didn't stop the band Tricot Machine from doing just that.
The band's video for their song 'Les Peaux de Lièvres' (Skin of Hares) features over 700 beautiful machine-knitted panels. The panels depict the band members singing, catching snowflakes on their tongues and sledging past Canadian moose to their igloo home.
Designer, Lysanne Latuilppe, responsible for the elegant Majolie fashion label, is the creator of the panels which are put together to make an animation that flows perfectly along with the music. It must have taken an unimaginable amount of time to design so many and make them fit together so well.
The Quebecois band's dedication makes perfect sense when you consider that the word 'tricot' means knit in French. But the video is a wonder to watch whether you knit or not.
